1. Matching
Here are some different meats and the animals they come from.

We often talk about the way meat has been made into different things, cut or cooked.

When there is a group of bananas and carrots, we often talk about a bunch of bananas or carrots.

 

 



We often eat bread for breakfast or lunch.
When bread is cooked, we call it toast. We may put butter on toast and then something else like peanut butter or honey or jam/jelly.
We often talk about a slice or piece of bread. We often eat toast for breakfast. We cook it in a toaster. (British English: jam American English: jelly-- food made from fruit and sugar that you put on toast or bread.)
We often eat cereals (special food made from wheat, rice etc that you can eat for breakfast) like cornflakes or muesli for breakfast with milk.  

We may shop for food at a supermarket. Sometimes we go to a market (a place where people go to buy and sell things, often outside.)
Sometimes we go to a special store that sells only one thing e.g. a butcher's for meat.

We may go out to a restaurant for a meal or buy takeout/takeaway food from a fast food restaurant that sells food like hamburgers, hotdogs, pizza or fries.

2. Crossword Puzzles
Your teacher is going to divide the class into two groups. One of you is Student A, the other is Student B.
Work together and fill in the crossword. Ask and answer questions with your partner. Do not show the other person your words.

3. Vocabulary Work
Have you learned any new words doing these exercises? Add them and their meanings to your vocabulary notebook.
